LA Mission College Theatre Arts will present the Broadway and Hollywood classic musical, Little Shop Of Horrors. Written and composed by Howard Ashman and Alan Menken (Disney's The Little MermaidBeauty and the Beast, and Aladdin), Little Shop of Horrors has become one of the most popular shows in the world, currently enjoying a star-studded revival on Broadway.

Little Shop of Horrors will be presented in the LA Mission College AMP Theater from May 10-19, with a preview performance on May 9. Tickets range from $10-25 and will go on sale on April 8, 2024.

In a failing flower shop on Skid Row, the nerdy Seymour Krelborn happens upon a new breed of plant which he names "Audrey II,” after his coworker crush. After an accidental taste of blood, Audrey II is revealed as a ravenous carnivore, and promises fame and fortune to Seymour...as long as he keeps feeding it. As Audrey II gets bigger and bigger, its appetite demands more human-sized meals. Just as Seymour and Audrey profess their love for each other, Audrey II’s plan for world domination becomes clear, and Seymour must choose between love and escaping Skid Row for good.

Little Shop of Horrors is directed by Associate Professor Robert Cucuzza, with vocal direction by Brett Ryback. The musical has a cast of twelve students, featuring Kevin Boecher as Seymour Keira Lobel Weiss as Audrey, John Barron as Mushnik, Caasi Romo as Audrey 2, and Diego Godinez as Orin, the sadistic dentist. Scenic design is by Cucuzza, lighting design by Bri Pattillo, and costume design by student Casey Padilla with Lena Sands.

LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS INFORMATION

DURATION

The show runs under two hours minutes with no intermission.

CONTENT ADVISORY
Little Shop of Horrors is a musical comedy that involves unrealistic depictions of murder, dismemberment, and death that are all “campy” and played for laughs. There are several vulgar words and no sexual content at all. There are instances of domestic abuse—verbal and physical—between Orin and Audrey.

AGE ADVISORY

Unless specified as “children’s theatre,” which this show is definitely not, kids under ten are generally too restless and unpredictable to attend. No matter how fun you think it may be for your toddler, they will get restless and make sudden sounds and movements that are distracting to both the actors and audience.

PLEASE ARRIVE AHEAD OF TIME

We start our shows on time. Entering the theater after the show has begun can disturb both the audience and actors. Make sure that you arrive at the box office no later than 15 minutes before show time.
