Taking theatre classes at LA Mission College

Theatre is the wellspring for all forms of live and filmed entertainment, so theatre classes can be as educational as they are enjoyable. LA Mission College Theatre offers revolving classes in many different aspects of theatre—whether you're interested in the work on-stage or behind-the-scenes, or as an audience member or a fan of TV and film.

The college website can be confusing to navigate and only presents the most basic information, so here's a list of all of the upcoming courses with descriptions. If you would like to enroll in one of them, just click the link and copy and paste or type "THEATER" where it says Subject. All of the theatre courses will come up.

All of the courses that are offered at LA Mission College are listed below.
Those with a blue background are open for enrollment in the Spring 2026 semester.

If you have any questions, send an email to Professor of Theatre Arts Robert Cucuzza at cucuzzrj@laccd.edu.

SCRIPT ANALYSIS

THEATER 114

Offered only in Fall semester

ZERO TEXTBOOK COST

3 UNITS | CSU transferable
INSTRUCTOR: ROBERT CUCUZZA

Meets Thursdays 8:50 am -12:00 pm

Run more like a creative lab than a traditional academic script analysis course, this class is sixteen weeks of imaginative exploration. It’s custom-made for students who have interests in anything from writing and directing, to all design disciplines in film, TV, and theatre. The focus is on world-building, so it’s also great for future game developers, fiction writers, and storytellers in any medium. I teach the mechanics of storytelling and script analysis, then put those tools in your hands and everyone writes a script. Then, you use those scripts to imagine worlds for them, involving scenery, lights, costumes, or entire universes.
